1. Bouldin Creek

Even though it feels peaceful, Bouldin Creek is still close to all of the action. Downtown Austin is just across the river, making it easy to catch a concert at Moody Amphitheater or spend an afternoon strolling through The Contemporary Austin. Walk just a few blocks east, and you’ll land in the heart of South Congress, home to local favorites like Jo’s Coffee, Home Slice Pizza, and Amy’s Ice Creams.

2. Travis Heights

You’ll find a range of single-family homes, duplexes, and low-rise apartments, often at a lower price point than surrounding areas. Dawson is ranked as the 13th most walkable neighborhood in Austin, with easy access to casual eateries, local coffee shops, dog parks, and bus lines that make getting around simple.

6. Galindo

As one of the oldest and most diverse neighborhoods in Austin, Galindo is a great option for renters who want to stay close to the energy of the city without the higher price tag. Located just south of SoCo and west of South First Street, it offers a quieter, more residential feel while still putting you within a few minutes of one of Austin’s best dining scenes.
